How to frame my artwork in one order
A wooden frame gives an illustration or miniature portrait a place of its own. Compare the available finishes and sizes before uploading. A simple composition reads well from across a room; very fine detail rewards a closer viewing distance.
What’s in the frame
The frame is real wood, in black or natural wood, and the print sits behind a plexiglass front. The paper is the same 250 gsm uncoated stock as our unframed prints. Two sizes are offered: A3 at 11.7 x 16.5 in and A2 at 16.5 x 23.4 in. If it arrives damaged or with a print fault, we reprint or refund it at our cost.
Planning the wall for a framed print
Measure for the outside of the frame, not the paper. The wood is about 1/2 in wide, so the finished piece is about an inch bigger each way than the print inside it. The 16.5 x 23.4 in (A2) is the size for above a sofa or a games table. The 11.7 x 16.5 in (A3) suits the gap above a desk, a shelf ledge, or a row of three heroes down a hallway.
Black or natural wood
Match the frame to the backdrop you shot on. A figure on black card inside a black frame reads as one dark field, and the paintwork carries the whole picture. Natural wood suits warm schemes and figures shot on gray or light card, and it ties in with wooden shelves and furniture.
Framed print or framed canvas
A framed print is paper behind plexiglass, in A3 or A2. The framed canvas is stretched canvas in a black frame, with a gap around the canvas edge, and its largest size is 15.7 x 19.7 in (40 x 50 cm). Choose paper for a smooth surface under a clear front, canvas for the texture of the weave.
How a painted figure looks behind glass
A framed print suits a single hero or a small group shot. Keep the base in the frame and leave a margin of plain background, because the frame sits right against the edge of the print. A dark backdrop makes metallics and glowing eyes stand out behind the plexiglass.

Upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB. You must own the image or have permission to reproduce it. Your original artwork can go straight to the product selector, unchanged. If you start with a painted miniature, the optional scene studio lets you explore a different setting first.
