Put your own painted captain or original artwork on a white Gildan 64000 unisex crewneck T-shirt, available in S, M, L, XL and 2XL, with your image printed on the front. The fabric is 100% cotton. The artwork area is approximately 12 × 16 inches; the crop preview shows the artwork, not the whole shirt. The back is unprinted.

Lay a shirt that fits you flat and compare its chest width and body length. These approximate garment measurements come from our print partner; allow for normal manufacturing variation. Chest width is measured across the laid-flat shirt, not around the body.

Prepare your image
A portrait composition makes the best use of the print area. Backgrounds in your uploaded image are printed too; this route does not remove a background or create an all-over garment print.
A checklist for a figure on a white shirt
- Shoot upright. The print area is taller than it is wide, so a portrait photo of a standing model fills it.
- Use white card. Anything behind the model prints, and on white cotton a white background simply disappears into the shirt.
- Crop close. A figure that fills the frame reads from across the room at a convention or a club night, while a small model in a big empty space turns into a dot.
- Keep banners, shield designs and any lettering away from the edges of the crop.
- Check the crop preview. It shows the artwork, not the whole shirt.
The shirt, and how to wash it
Gildan makes the 64000 in its Softstyle range: ring-spun cotton at 4.5 oz per square yard, with a narrow rib collar and taped neck and shoulders. Gildan’s care instructions for its garments say to wash separately before the first wear, then inside out with like colors, no hotter than 86°F (30°C). Use only oxygen, non-chlorine bleach, tumble dry low (no hotter than 140°F, 60°C), and don’t iron or dry clean. Gildan adds one note: read the label instructions for each garment.
T-shirt or hoodie
The shirt is white 100% cotton, with a tall print area. The hoodie is black, with a square print above the pocket. That makes the choice simple: a figure you shot on white card belongs on the shirt, and one shot on black card belongs on the hoodie. Both pages carry a laid-flat measurement table, so you can check the fit of each against a garment you already own.
How a painted figure prints on a T-shirt
On a white shirt, any background in your photo prints too, so a figure shot on white card blends in best. A strong silhouette and bold colors carry across the room; fine freehand detail is better saved for a print on paper.
